OpmerkingenIt looked like a large red/orange fireball about 1/6 the size of the low moon if full in the sky that night (waxing crescent) at the same time as seen low on the horizon in the west. The tail was about 2-3 x the size of the ball. it was brilliant and bright. I wasn't sure how to grade it's brightness as compared to the 1/4 moon, full moon and sun. It appeared to be SSW in the sky at about 10 o'clock when from where I was standing and fairly low in the sky, ending just a little above the neighbors 2 story house. the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in the sky. By far the largest, perhaps 50-100x larger than meteors I've seen and felt much closer.
